The Service They Provide
My main phone number (816)471-11114 is forwarded to smith at all times. They answer phones from 7:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m., C.S.T. It is a live person (usually located in Oregon or Montana or Minnesota). If I have made a notation to them via text that I am available, they forward the call to my cell phone. If I am not available, they take a detailed message and email that to me.
The Message
What I love about Smith is the detailed message taken by the receptionist. They take the name, phone number & email and then a detailed summary of the client’s issues. Like really detailed. And they have not gotten one email wrong. This is so important to my business as I usually communicate via email with my clients.
Comparison to Ruby Receptionist
This is my second receptionist service. The first, Ruby Receptionist, was competent but outrageously priced. Ruby also charged by the minute so a detailed message could cost me A LOT. I pay a flat fee for smith for unlimited receptionist time. It makes a difference cost wise and the time the receptionist can spend with my client.
Final Verdict
I’m a fan of smith. We did have some kinks in the beginning regarding price. They have an overage charge on some of their plans which I felt was unfairly implemented and billed. They responded to my needs and complaints and we worked out a compromise.
Many of my clients also comment on how happy the receptionist sounds when they answer the phone. This is important. Speeding tickets are a hassle and I want the experience to be as hassle-free as possible and that starts with their first call to us.
